Why I’m Staying With PanSa
If you haven’t been following my Youtube channel, you probably should start.
I posted this video yesterday morning:
As you can see, I had a job offer in Vanuatu for a semi-pro club. And, yeah, I turned it down.
In fact, I turned down multiple job offers in Vanuatu.
You’re probably wondering why.
The Grass Isn’t Always Greener
The truth is that there really isn’t much of a benefit to going to Vanuatu.
Sure, I might be able to sign players slightly better than what we have in American Samoa. But let’s be reasonable about this: I’m not going to get a ton of great players with 80 Euros a week for salaries or whatever it is.
It’s just not the same as getting interest from a big club in New Zealand, which is what my goal really should be. In fact, moving to Vanuatu might delay things even more, since I’d have to get used to an entirely new club culture and find a new cohort of key players.
So why not stay?
PanSa’s Not That Bad
Besides, PanSa East FC isn’t all that bad. We’re not going to win the league this season, but we will wind up in second place. That’s better than nothing.
I think we could do better if we got rid of the inconsistent players and tried to build up a solid cohort of youth. It might take an extra year or two, but I bet we could do it.
Let’s finish up business here before we think about moving on.
