What I Wish Football Manager Could Do
There’s one thing I really wish Football Manager could do.
I wish I could easily export data from my players.
Now, I’m not just talking about statistical data. I know that this is possible. In fact, the video below explains how to do that in very clear detail.
No, I’m talking about easily grabbing screenshots and in-game information about each of my players - stuff I can use to create my own Hall of Fame.
This Blog
This sort of feature would help a ton with the purpose of this blog.
I’m like a lot of you. I really enjoy watching Football Manager content on YouTube. I like it so much that I wish I could see and learn more about the players, especially the ones that play well for a short time and then depart.
When I started refining this blog in preparation for the Hexagon Challenge, I decided that I should create a page devoted to information about my team and its current roster. And I did. You can find that page here:
PanSa East F.C.
PanSa East F.C. are a club in American Samoa, which is part of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). Like all the clubs in American Samoa, PanSa East F.C. plays its matches at Pago Park Soccer Stadium in Pago Pago, American Samoa. You can learn more about the club on
You’ll notice, however, that it’s not completely up to date. And there’s a good reason for that.
It’s really time consuming.
Even something as simple as taking periodic screenshots of squad dynamics and certain player profiles takes a lot of time and effort. And, well, when other things happen in life, sometimes that time just isn’t there.
What I’d Like To See
I wish there were a better way to do this. I wish it could be automated, that there were some sort of easy way to export things in an easy to use format.
I don’t want to see a bunch of numbers. Attribute numbers are all relative and are meaningless to me. Statistics are statistics: they can be interesting in the right context, but are otherwise dry and dull.
I want to see faces, to know about stories, to remember key matches. I want to create my own Hall of Fame, not merely a spreadsheet that I update from time to time.
Sadly, this can’t be done easily. I’ll do my best to update and maintain these pages as this project progresses. It’s going to take a bit more planning and organizing on my part, though it certainly is possible.
Still… I wish it were easier.
