Training Experiment
I wrote this post a few days ago:
I’ve decided to give it a try.
I started a new save a few days ago, in part to get myself back to playing regularly, and in part to help test the various modifications made to simatch.fmf by the community.
Instead of worrying about various training scenarios and strategies, I’ve decided to create rest-only training sessions. They look something like this:
The reason for this is that I want to increase Acceleration and Pace in all of my players as much as possible.
I’m still in the middle of the first season as of the writing of this post. Our team is bad — really bad. But it seems that the training is working.
Here’s the training progress of a 25-year-old striker with an unambitious personality and tons of negatives:
Pretty bad, right? Well, here is how his Acceleration and Pace have changed:
Though it’s slight, you can see an increase. And I’m pretty sure this is a reflection of the theory that training for older players merely redistributes the attributes.
Here’s the development of a 17-year-old player. He’s one of the best players on our awful team - but his progress has been less than convincing:
But here’s what his Acceleration and Pace have done:
Those are only two examples, of course — and I’ve got a lot of Football Manager left to play. However, this shows me that we may actually be on to something.
