The Right Way To Have Good Morale

Here are a few tips on how to get morale right in Football Manager:

• Don’t berate your players, throw water bottles at them, or do anything like that. As tempting as it is, it’s not going to go over well.

• Don’t criticize individual players in front of their teammates. In fact, try your hardest not to single anybody out. It usually has a worse result than you think.

• Get rid of inconsistent players.

• Similarly, get rid of players who simply perform poorly. Buy better players and you’ll win more matches.

• Schedule mid-season friendlies against awful teams to make your players feel happy again.

• Don’t hold extra team meetings. Just don’t do it. It’s not going to help.

• Let your players do their jobs without interfering too much.

Trust me — I’ve learned this the hard way.
