The Frustrating Season
This was probably the most frustrating Football Manager season I’ve ever played.
We have the talent, though it’s young. I knew we could finish mid-table.
However, the players didn’t believe in it, and we wound up rock bottom for most of the season.
Things looked awful at the end of October:
We did manage a 5 game unbeaten streak right around this time, which helped a little bit:
Unfortunately, though, it wasn’t really until January that we started to kick it into gear. We had a few big victories and looked like we’d wind up in 17th place again or even higher — but then we fell apart at the end of the season.
The most frustrating part of the Youth Academy Challenge is knowing what your team needs, but not having any way to go out and get it. We’ve had good Youth Intakes, though, such as this year’s:
But, of course, potential is not the same thing as being able to play good enough today.
Surely it can only get better from here, right?
