FM25 won't be out until March - if ever

Since I compose these posts in advance, this is probably old news by the time you’re reading it.

Sports Interactive decided to delay the release of FM25 until March 2025.

My immediate reaction was this:

I seriously am not certain how they’re going to manage coming out with a game in March followed by another game in November. Sports Interactive should seriously consider releasing new databases as DLC and saving major game updates until they are good and ready.

Fortunately, somebody on Reddit was able to dig up this very old Sports Interactive news post detailing a similar issue surrounding Championship Manager 4 over 20 years ago:

As you might recall, Championship Manager 4 was a flop. It wasn’t until Championship Manager 03/04 came out that the 2D match engine version was really impressive.

I don’t know if we’ll see something similar this time around. What I do know, however, is that Miles Jacobson has come a long way from the “we make no apologies” type statement.
