My Star Signing
I completely forgot that I signed Grant Martin.
He joined us from Mississippi Valley State back at the end of the transfer window. He’s 16 years old and has a lot of potential.
He’s also turning into one of our best players.
We beat Nevada pretty easily, winning 4-1. There was a moment where we only had a 2-1 lead and things looked hectic, but we pulled it out in the end.
Cesar Aldana was on the bench this time, trying to recover from that College Cup catastrophe. But we won anyway. It’s all good.
John Cornelsen, our backup striker, scored a goal today for the first time this season. He’s had numerous chances, and finally showed that he can do it, inconsistency and all.
But the real star was Martin.
Grant Martin led the way with two goals, his first two goals of the season. And he looks like a great one.
Even with transfer restrictions, I can make it work now and then.
San Diego State
We’re finally playing against a team I remember seeing when attended (American) football games as a kid with my dad.
Having said that, this isn’t really a rivalry game.
Look at this from Winsipedia:
I hate to say it, but it’s not really much of a rivalry when one team has won 29 of the 38 games.
But at least we have an opponent that I recognize.
The board want a win as well. We’ll try to get it to them.
