My Magic Tactic
I know that I’m supposed to spend a lot of time reading advice on websites like View From The Touchline on tactic creation.
I simply haven’t had the time to do any of that, unfortunately.
As a result, this is the tactic I slapped together for my PanSa F.C. save:
Brief Explanation
There’s really not much of a trick to this.
When I came on at PanSa, I noticed that we had an abundance of wingers and very few actual midfielders. That gave us the wide approach at the front.
I thought about doing 3 at the back, but we had enough players capable of playing fullback to convince me.
The game recommended a wing play setup, and so I went with the default. I added on “counter-press” mostly because I know that it works well, especially in lower leagues.
I shifted the defensive midfielder to the left to allow me to use the Segundo Volante role, moved the Mezalla over to the right to compensate, turned both wingers into inverted wingers, and changed the attacking center midfielder to a shadow striker role.
And, well, that’s about it. The only other changes involved going to ball playing defenders at the back (again, because I know it works), and going from a goalkeeper to a sweeper keeper.
It works well, believe it or not. The player in the attacking left wing role tends to move forward and get into good shooting positions. The shadow striker is a high goal scoring position. The overlaps on both sides also work very well, confusing the basic defenses that we play against by bringing the fullbacks up into attacking positions.
We haven’t lost yet.
