In this video, I go through the process I use to set up friendlies in Football Manager 2023:

I’ve learned through experience that the best thing to do is to go for 2 friendlies a week during the off season. This seems to hold true regardless of the level or league you are currently managing in.

If you schedule frequent friendlies, you’ll find that your team cohesion improves and that your players learn to play in your tactic faster. It can also help players who aren’t quite good enough for your first team feel like they are playing frequently enough.
