Make Football Manager Fun Again
I saw this post the other day:
I know that malaise sinks in every once in a while for Football Manager players. I think this is especially true for those of us who rush through seasons and try to beat the game as soundly as possible.
A few thoughts on ways you can make it more fun:
Slow down. Take your time. Play the game in the comprehensive highlight mode and pay attention to what’s happening.
Get to know your players. You won’t have any good stories to tell if you don’t know who you guys are. This is particularly satisfying when you’ve got a bunch of newgens.
Research your club. The club you manage is probably not a figment of your imagination. Find videos on YouTube, find the club on Google Maps, and get to know it as well as you possibly can.
Go with the flow. Don’t complain about injuries, players refusing to sign contracts, big clubs stealing your best players away, and so on. Go with it. See how it changes your storyline.
Interact with the community. The best part of this game is the excellent community. Get to know people. Share your stories with others. There are a lot of us who want to read what you’ve come across.
I don’t know what FM25 is going to be like. However, I know that it will be immersive as long as we do our own part.
