Just Making It

The second season of my Youth Academy Challenge project with Hallam was intense. In fact, it was so intense that I made a stand-alone YouTube video reviewing it:

As usual, we were predicted to finish near the bottom of the league:

Of course, that’s more a reflection of the reputation mechanic in Football Manager than the actual ability of your squad. It’s kind of a deceptive report in that sense.

We wound up in first place as late as December 12:

But that’s when things started to slide back. A combination of fixture congestion and tiring players caused our performance to slide a bit in January:

March was also pretty rough:

By April 9th, we were stuck in third place:

Now, our goal was to be promoted. First and second place meant automatic promotion, while third place meant a playoff.

It all came down to the last match of the season - which we miraculously won, despite going down to 10 men early on.

I’ll have a longer video detailing the entire project before long, and will go into some detail on that final match. Unfortunately, I didn’t get enough screenshots from my playthrough.
