I Released My Five Star Striker
My Rimyongsu save really isn’t going anywhere. Well, it wasn’t, that is — not until I made a really controversial decision.
This is Kim Song, a newgen who was created at the beginning of my save. He was our biggest star. And he’s now a free agent.
I released Kim Song in early November 2026 after a particularly poor run of form. As you can see, nobody has bothered to sign him, despite the fact that he probably could help most teams in our division.
And, if you look at his stats, you’ll wonder why I’d ever do such a crazy thing:
Well, there are a few reasons.
First, he only managed 3 goals in 17 matches, and his match rating was slipping. This was for a 19 year old who should have had the world in front of him. I couldn’t get him to score — and I couldn’t get him to admit he played poorly.
Second, I’ve got a number of good strikers on this squad — and none of them could get enough playing time to develop. A five star striker does you no good if he’s not actually scoring. Kim Song was playing in every single match, and demanded that I treat him like a star player even when things were going poorly.
Third, he wasn’t going to sign another contract with us no matter what. And so I figured I’d put him out of his misery early.
Did my gambit work?
