Guide To Managing In Kiribati
Want a crazy experience? Try managing in Kiribati!
You’ll have a maximum of 9 matches — if you manage to make it to the final, that is. You’ll only have a single match against each team, and the entire season is played in the space of about a month. It’s like no other experience.
A few bits of advice if you try it:
Make sure to schedule friendlies at the beginning of the season. This will give your team an advantage against the AI controlled teams.
Buy up the dream eleven at the beginning of the season. All teams are amateur only, which means you can buy whichever player you want. There are no contracts, since Football Manager doesn’t handle amateur contracts at all.
Make sure you give yourself an initial scouting bump to allow you to see every player in the country. Get rid of it once you’re done loading your team up with good players. There’s no reason to pay for scouting, since there is really no point to scouting.
Sign players with high pace and acceleration ratings. Don’t worry about scouting them first. If they’re not good enough, just release them. They have no contracts, after all.
Use your 3 foreigner spots wisely. Look for players with international caps from nearby countries with mostly amateur teams, such as Samoa and Tonga.
I recommend it. I was able to play through an entire Kiribati save in about 3 hours, and that included taking notes for today’s video. It’s a fun activity for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
