Football Manager Match Engine Update
Tired of waiting for FM25? Never fear! The community has created an updated version of the match engine.
You can find it on this FM Arena post.
And, if you’re interested, the original comes from this Chinese poster.
Basically, what 红骑士Sakura did was edit the “physical_constraints.jsb” file contained in the default simatch.fmf file. This is apparently the file that includes the calculations Football Manager uses for the physics engine. He edited this file using HxD, which is a freeware hex editor program.
If you want to mess around with it, you can extract the simatch.fmf file using the Resource Archiver that comes with the game. Of course, make sure to save a copy of your simatch.fmf file first.
The Resource Archiver will ask you where you want to extract the individual files. Once you choose a folder for extraction, you’ll find something like this:
You can then mess around.
This, by the way, is how the famous MetzFM audio commentary file was created. He jumped into the resource archiver, changed some stuff, rearchived it, and it worked.
