Attacking With A Defending Libero
As I was reviewing our most recent Kashiwa matches, I noticed that we’ve been excellent at maintaining possession.
I think I know why.
Football Manager is interesting because of the combinations you can stick together. We have a defensive minded Libero playing in the center of our defensive setup. And yet he frequently winds up attacking.
This is apparently because the player will automatically move forward if there is free space in front of him and his team has the ball. And having two attacking defensive midfielders in front of him gives him all sorts of space to work with.
The crazy part is that our Liberos are usually able to get back in time to help defend. That’s why pace and acceleration are such important attributes for defenders.
So keep that in mind. Having 3 center backs is not there simply to get a bunch of tall players in your squad.
