This set really is a treat to look at. I’d argue that this is one of the most pleasing designs in the entire history of sports cards.

Just take a look at some of these cards:

As was the case with the two earlier A&BC sets, these cards are relatively inexpensive. You just don’t see deals like this for American sports cards anymore:

The 1960-61 set is actually smaller than the two earlier releases, at only 84 total cards. As was the case in 1958-59 and 1959-60, the sets were sold in two varieties of packs: a single card for 1d or 4 cards for 3d (bubble gum included).

I’m still amazed at how inexpensive these sets are.
